We know it can be hard to stay motivated and keep active at home, which can then be detrimental to mental health. With everyone in lockdown again, school’s closing, and disability sport no longer being allowed inside, we wanted to help you all stay active and connected.
That’s why we’ve launched our weekly virtual PE sessions, which are adapted so everyone can join in, regardless of mobility or other barriers to fitness. These are live every Wednesday on our YouTube from 2pm-2:30pm, and are designed for the whole family to take part. We will continue these sessions throughout lockdown, and until we are able to provide face-to-face sporting sessions again.
This week, we also begun our third round of Active Sussex and REBOOT funded YouTube sessions. These sessions are pre-recorded, and will be available to watch every Monday. If you’re struggling at all during the session, leave us a comment and Coach Joel will get back to you with adaptations that suit your needs. This week, we looked at adapted fitness, specifically focussed on the core. If you enjoyed our session, don’t forget to check out the rest of the programme put on by Active Sussex and REBOOT.
If you have any requests or suggestions for our sessions, let us know on Facebook, through email (info@defiantsports.org.uk), or down in the comments. We hope these sessions give you back a sense of community and normality, and that staying active with us keeps you healthy both mentally and physically.
As always, stay Defiant!
