This Red Nose Day, Tom Daley – Diver and national hero, will be doing an impressive endurance challenge.
From Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park located in Stratford all the way to Plymouth, his hometown, he will be rowing, cycling, swimming, and running over the period of 4 days, pushing his limits to their absolutes.
Tom undertaking this challenge should not be a surprise to those who know him. He is a four-time Olympic medal winner, winning gold during 2020 in the 10m synchro with his diving partner Matty lee, and was made an OBE in the 2022 New Year Honours for his efforts as a human rights activist and LGBTQ+ campaigner.
With his dedication to achieve a gold medal, and clear care for the community, a challenging marathon to raise money and awareness is right up his alley.
Sport and exercise, while fantastic for your own personal health and wellbeing, have been used as an excellent method to do good. Many people have done marathons to either raise awareness of an issue or raise money for charity, often at the same time.
It is an admirable thing to do so we hope that you’ll show your support for Tom Daley, and possibly donate to a worthwhile cause, while he undertakes this marathon. You can watch his endurance challenge on 14th March at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
As always, stay Defiant!
