Hello
I have an 11 yo keen to join are there many others this age? Also what sports are played?
Thank you
Jules
Good afternoon Jules,
Really sorry, but we don’t run this session anymore. However, we do run a weekly Home Ed Sport & Play on Wednesdays, 11am – 1pm at our Inclusion Hub (£10 per person). We’re also launching a Home Ed specific tennis session this Thursday, which will take place weekly, 12:45pm – 1:45pm at Fishermans Green Tennis Courts, BN22 7LH (£5 per person).
I can confirm we have a good few around that age – so should be lots of people to make friends with.
Check out our timetable page for more info on these sessions: https://defiantsports.org.uk/35344-2/
Hope that’s helped 😁
What day and times go you run tennis please
Good morning Hannah,
We run a few different tennis sessions throughout the week. Please see below for their details:
– Open Court Tennis: Wednesdays & Saturdays, 10am – 11am, Fishermans Green Tennis Courts, BN22 7LH, free. A session where you can use our gear and the Fishermans Green Tennis Courts to play some social tennis.
– Fitter 4 Life Tennis: Wednesdays, 11am – 12pm, Fishermans Green Tennis Courts, BN22 7LH, £5. A low-impact tennis session that’s easy on your joints.
– Visually Impaired Tennis: Fridays, 10:30am – 12pm, Eastbourne Sports Park, BN21 2UF, £6. A tennis session made for people with visual impairments. It uses sound balls, tactile spots and more.
If you’d like to see our full timetable, please go to: https://defiantsports.org.uk/35344-2/
Hope that helps. Have a lovely day!
Hi do you have many teens in these sessions?
Hi Emma,
Most of the children in the home Ed group are at the older end, we do have a couple of younger ones but mostly teens. The group size currently is usually around 6 children, with 4 being teens.
If you would like to come along and have a look please do, you do not need to commit to prebooking or join the session if you do not wish to.
Best wishes,
Loretta
Hello, are parents able to stay? My son has ASD and is very nervous around people. This will be his first week of home Ed.
Hi Gemma, of course! We have quite a few parents stay for these sessions 🙂
Hi is there any chance you have another day available for the home Ed group. I’d love my children to attend but they have another commitment I can’t move on tuesdays.
Hi Rob, unfortunately we can’t move the group as we have a number of regular families already attending. We do however have two youth groups that run in a similar format, with more focus on the social aspect. Typically there will be a sport going on each week on the sports court or free play with footballs etc, and there will be things like table tennis and table football to play with off the court. These groups run on Monday 4:30pm-6pm (12yrs+) and Thursday 4:30pm-6pm (8-11yrs) – here are the pages for these which have a bit more info: https://defiantsports.org.uk/defiant-youth-group-8-11yrs/ https://defiantsports.org.uk/defiant-youth-club/. Hope this helps!
We also offer private lessons if this is something your children would be interested in? These are £15 an hour, with our speciality in tennis, but we can look at other sports too if they have a particular interest. These sessions are fully flexible and can be scheduled around when you are free!
Hello, would love to come on a Tuesday with my son but could you tell me what happens when it’s raining? Haha. Thankyou
