This year, Community Business Weekend is taking place between 14th-17th May (only 73 days to go!). CBW is a country-wide event that celebrates local business doing good in the community, with mini-events going on throughout the weekend stretching from North Northumberland, to Eastbourne, right across to St. Ives!
In 2019, CBW saw over 17,000 attend more than 300 events, and 2020 is set to be “the biggest yet”, so make sure to join in! Locally, you can come along to the Community Business Fair on 16th May, 12pm-4pm hosted at our venue, the Defiant Sports Inclusion Hub. Here’s what you can expect from this event, hosted by Defiant Sports:
an opportunity for local community businesses to network with others and showcase their products and services to the community. If you are an East Sussex based community business, get in touch to book a space. If you live in the area, pop down and see what’s on offer! Lots of displays and taster opportunities throughout the afternoon.
With over 9,000 community businesses across England, there’s bound to be plenty of great things going on in your local community that you’re unaware of. The Community Business Weekend is your chance to find out about all things from “community-run sport centres to libraries, community pubs to bakeries” that are opening up to share news on the impact they’re having, and how you can volunteer or get involved.
If you’re a local community business and want to run an event, share what you’re doing in the community, or otherwise get involved, you can visit the CBW website or send an email to cbweekend@powertochange.org.uk. Based in East Sussex and want to share what you’re doing with the community and other local businesses? Contact Loretta Lock on 07887755856 or email info@defiantsports.org.uk.
