Hi, I’m Jurre, I’m 16 years old, and I’m from the Netherlands. I’ve been a part of the Defiant Sports team this week. As a part of my school curriculum I’ve been tasked with finding a place in a different country to gather some work experience. Setting up this trip has been quite hard, but when I eventually stumbled on Defiant Sports, everything seemed to come together. I’ve been a part of the Water Scouts for about ten years now and coaching kids has been growing on me.
I’m now past the halfway point of my stay here in England and I’ve been helping out at Defiant Sport for the last four days. I have to say that the work they’re doing here is truly amazing. How many happy faces and laughing kids I’ve seen! It‘s incredible that these people can help people so much by just giving them the opportunity to meet other people. Seeing how the staff help people in this way is inspiring. They’re great people and I wish them the best of luck in their mission to connect people through sport!
