Come along to the LTA’s Open Court!
The Open Court initiative was born from a partnership between the LTA and Sport England in an effort to bring tennis to as many people as possible. The scheme caters to people, whatever their disability may be, to come and play in safe and comfortable conditions. Venues to host this programme have been selected across the country, and Defiant Sports are on the list! Our first event will take the form of a tournament at Eastbourne Sports Park between 10am-2pm on the 12th of September.
We’re glad to invite you to experience a pan-disability tennis for only £3; a place where for the first time locally, all disabilities can play one another, where we’ll make sure games are adaptable for everyone. Loretta, our managing director, is also part of the LTA’s Idea Group working to make tennis more inclusive for all regardless of race, gender, sexuality, disability, income, and more. It is initiatives such as these and the Open Court programme which are striving to make tennis more inclusive – one of the main things we have been championing for, having formed on the basis of creating non-discriminatory tennis for all.
