Ever wondered what Morris dancing is all about? Well now’s your time to find out! Pip Faulkner is looking to start up a Morris dancing group for Defiant Sports, specifically aimed at people with disabilities as there is little provision for this at the moment.
The aim of this group would be to meet once a week for sessions/dancing practice, training for appearances at local events such as the Eastbourne Lammas Festival, or in events the Beacon. At these events, any money raised would be put back into Defiant Sports and the Morris dancing troupe to ensure the dancing fun continues!
If you’re interested, Pip will be holding a talk all about Morris dancing and his aims for the Defiant Sports troupe once the Inclusion Hub re-opens. Be sure to come along if Morris dancing sounds like it’s for you, or if you’re curious as to what it’s all about.
As with everything at Defiant Sports, this group would primarily be focussed on bringing inclusion to sport, and celebrating the positive benefits that inclusivity and connecting through sport encourage. And of course, appearing at events would not be compulsory, but rather a fun incentive for those who are keen to show off their Morris dancing skills!
Watch this space for details on Pip’s talk, and feel free to contact us with any queries at info@defiantsports.org.uk or on 07887755856.
Stay Defiant!
