Big Wins at LTA Tennis Sussex Awards!

Defiant Sports are glad to shared that on the 6th February, the Tennis Sussex Awards 2022 announced that we won not just the Disability award but also the Competition of the Year award. We are incredibly happy to see our efforts being recognised, showing that the work we put in is successful in achieving what Defiant Sports stands for – Inclusion for all. In addition to winning these awards, our head coach, Joel, was a finalist in consideration for the Development Coach award. We are proud of all he has done this past year, this being further proof of the effort he puts in.

Notable award winners were Jayden Hobbs for the Young Person of the Year Award, Julie Marks for the Volunteer of the Year Award, and Rudgwick TC 16U Girls Team for the Team of the Year Junior Award. The winner of each category will go forward to the regional LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) awards as finalists with the potential of going further onto nationals. Our success would not have been possible without each and every one of you, our players, coaches, and volunteers were vital in allowing us to get this far – Thank you all for the support.

If reading about this has got you pumped up for playing some tennis, we would be happy to see you at one of our tennis sessions – our four types being sound tennis, tennis for adults with learning disabilities, beginner adult tennis, and kids’ tennis.

Check our websites sports calendar or pop in for a visit to see the dates, times, and find out what to expect at these sessions.

As always, stay Defiant!
