Eastbourne Festival of Accessible Sport

We have exciting news! On the Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th of August (August Bank Holiday weekend), Defiant Sports and Eastbourne Access Group will be holding the FIRST EVER Eastbourne Festival of Accessible Sport! We have partnered with Eastbourne Access Group to give you a weekend full of activities to celebrate all things accessible sport. The festival will run Saturday from 10am-5pm and Sunday from 10am-4pm.

The festival will be held in Princes Park, on the beach across the road, and on the basketball courts by Fisherman’s Green.  Sovereign Centre will also be hosting disability gym and swim sessions as part of the festival. The swimming will only cost £1 per person with no charge for their carer. We are planning this festival with the aim to celebrate and highlight the importance of accessible sport, while also showcasing what Eastbourne and its surrounding areas have to offer to people with disabilities. We have so many awesome individuals and inclusive organisations in our community and we want to show that off as much as we can!

This will be the first festival of its kind in Eastbourne, and across England as far as we can tell. There will be a food area, arena with sports displays, live music and more! This will be an amazing time to showcase everything Eastbourne has done for Accessible Sport and we would love to have everyone join us to celebrate.

We would love for as many local businesses to be involved with this as possible. If you own a business involved in accessibility and inclusive sport and would like a stall, or are part of a business that would be willing to be a sponsor for the event, please contact us on info@defiantsports.org.uk

As always, stay defiant!
