Inclusion Hub and Timetable Update

We re-opened our doors again last Thursday 3rd, welcoming you all back to our sessions and drop-in hours. Over lockdown, we were able to continue working on the Inclusion Hub, which means we now have a working toilet, water, electricity, lighting on our multi-sports area, and a fully built 340 square foot sensory room!

All our sessions will be run in the Inclusion Hub throughout winter, meaning Football for Adults with Disabilities, Football for SEND Children, Siblings and Friends, and Tennis for Adults with Learning Disabilities are all moving inside. For more information on sessions and timings, check the timetable below:

We also have our Santa Grotto running throughout December with Feastival Events, be sure to check it out and get tickets to come along and meet Santa and his elves! Additionally, on Monday 21st December 2pm-4pm we will be getting a special visit from volunteer Michelle’s huskies. It’s only £3pp to come and see them, and is in place of our Sensory Arts + Crafts session that week.

The Inclusion Hub will close for Christmas break from 23rd December to 4th January 2021, with new hours of 10am-4pm Monday-Saturday each week until we close. In the new year, we will be offering new sessions and activities, including sensory sessions, so be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook or our monthly newsletter, Breaking Boundaries, for more information!

We hope to see you soon before Christmas, and if not, be sure to have a lovely festive season and a Happy New Year!

As always, stay Defiant!

  • Just looked at the web page
This Hub is just what is needed in Eastbourne
I have a 33 year son with some learning disabilities and there are limited opportunities out there
Would it be possible to be considered to join this much needed support Hub
Obviously I understand with current situation that it is not running currently
But would love to be considered once we are all back to some sort of normality
    Kind Regards
    Wendy

    • Yes of course, we would love to have you and your son at the hub! At the moment we are unsure when we’ll be open again, but we will update the website and our Facebook (https://m.facebook.com/DefiantSports) when we are allowed to reopen.

In the meantime, we have some online sessions currently running on our YouTube. These are adapted so all can join in. One session goes up every Monday, and the other is live streamed every Wednesday 2pm-2:30pm. Here’s our YouTube: https://youtube.com/channel/UCPAyZf8rUK64o6n-fUXP0_w.

Hope this helps, and please get in contact if you have any other queries!
